About Us
D’Olivo was born in Assisi, where craftsmanship meets nature and tradition
D’Olivo was founded in Assisi in 2012 from a simple and authentic passion: preserving the beauty of handmade creations.
From the very beginning, we chose to celebrate olive wood, a material deeply connected to the land, Mediterranean culture and a timeless tradition built on craftsmanship, patience and respect for natural materials.
We collaborate with Umbrian artisans to create objects that combine functionality, beauty and meaning: kitchen and table accessories, cutting boards, utensils, decorative pieces, religious items, handcrafted journals, creations inspired by Franciscan spirituality and personalised gifts.
Each piece reflects the value of local craftsmanship and the uniqueness of olive wood grain, making every creation naturally one of a kind.
Olive wood: a living material and a symbol of peace
For us, olive wood is more than a material.
It represents memory, roots, continuity and a connection with the land.
Its distinctive grain patterns, warm colours and natural fragrance make every object unique. No two pieces are ever identical because nature always leaves its own signature.
Alongside olive wood, we also work with natural and artisanal materials such as leather, glass, copper and steel, carefully selected to preserve authenticity and balance.
Many of our products can also be personalised with engraved names, dates, dedications and meaningful messages for special occasions and favours.
Assisi inspires everything we create
Assisi is not simply the place where we work.
It is the heart of D’Olivo.
The stone streets of the historic centre, the quiet alleys, the landscapes of Mount Subasio, the olive groves and the spiritual atmosphere of the city shape our creative vision every day.
Beauty, simplicity and respect for creation live together here.
These are the same values we seek to express through our collections.
Franciscan tradition inspires us through a quiet and authentic spirituality centred on peace, harmony and respect for what truly matters.
Franciscan heritage and the symbolic value of our creations
Assisi is deeply connected to Saint Francis and Saint Clare, whose message of simplicity, fraternity and love for creation continues to inspire visitors from all over the world.
For this reason, many of our creations reflect Franciscan spirituality: Tau crosses, rosaries, religious articles, wedding favours and symbolic gifts designed for meaningful moments in life.
Small objects in size, yet often rich in meaning.
Craftsmanship and creations that tell a story
Inside our shop in Assisi, the natural scent of olive wood welcomes every visitor.
Alongside olive wood creations, we offer handcrafted leather journals inspired by medieval traditions and by iconic places of Assisi, including the Porziuncola.
Every collection is created with the same intention: to make objects that can be used, treasured, gifted and passed on.
Our commitment
We believe in authentic craftsmanship.
We believe in natural materials.
We believe in the value of skilled hands.
And we believe that an object can become much more than what it appears to be: it can preserve memories, celebrate important moments and keep alive the connection with Assisi.
Welcome to the world of D’Olivo.
Where craftsmanship, spirituality and nature meet.
