Each notebook is slightly different from the others due to the tanning, which, being vegetable-based and not synthetic, differs slightly at the end of its processing. For this reason, small imperfections in the leather should not be considered defects, but rather as a sign of the product's authenticity. The engraving technique we adopted to "imprint" the symbol on the cover is called "blind embossing," using an ancient marking method that consists of compressing the leather with a hot stamp, thus creating a permanent raised engraving.

For the closure system of our notebooks, we chose the "long lace" solution, which, by wrapping around the entire notebook, gives it an ancient, timeless style. This system dates back to the time of scribes who used it to hold together less important manuscripts that were not bound in the classic and more expensive way, i.e., by sewing and gluing the various pages (almost always parchment) together to create the manuscript as we know it today.

Important note

Once all the sheets have been used, the paper block can be completely replaced with a virgin one by visiting any printing shop, thus allowing the same genuine leather cover to be used again. Handcrafted item: small imperfections or slight differences should not be considered defects, but rather as a sign of the product's authenticity.

Genuine calf leather is a natural material obtained from the hide of young cattle (calves), selected for its high quality, fine grain and softness to the touch. It stands out from other leathers for its compact yet flexible structure, which makes it particularly suitable for valuable processing, such as leather goods, bookbinding, footwear or religious accessories.

When tanned by hand and without synthetic treatments, calf leather retains all its authentic beauty, making it ideal for high-end and low environmental impact products.
